Dinning room makeover

Good Day to you all. The sun is shining for now and all the snow is gone for now. Lets hope it stays this way.
So I am here today to share with you a project I did over the weekend. I really could not be happier with it. It is exactly what I was looking for.
Lets start with some before pictures . OH it was nasty ugly.

Part of me was a little sad that some poor person cross-stitched the seat covers but man they had to GO. I scored it from our local thrift shop that helps support our hospital. So for a $125.00 I saved this from the dump and I helped out our community. WIN WIN in my books. So now the real fun begins. So It did have some water damage on the top of the table. So out came my trusty sander and I went to town sanding the top and sides I had to use my hands to sand the scroll work but it worked good. Then gave the whole thing a wash with some safe prep AKA TSP.  If you don't wash it with the TSP I find that the paint will not go on smooth.
Next I just went to town painting it. I had some paint left over from my dresser redo. This paint is amazing if you leave it to sit for about 4 days my kids can trash it and it does not chip as bad as some paints I have used. The set came with 6 chairs for know I only painted 4. The other 2 I have another project  to add to the set. Well the paint was drying I recovered the seats in fabric I have had kicking around and matched it like a T.

OH this had to be the biggest transformation I have ever done. PURE LOVE!!!!
The fabric is so great to hide the mess kids bring to regular life. This is our only dinning room it is used at least 2 times a day not to mention it is our homework area.  So are you ready for it?  I hope you are siting down because ITs BIG!!!

the inside is our trim color. I figured the grey inside would be a little to much.

Yes I painted it right in my dinning room. Crazy I know!!

Spray paint the hardware. I love chalkboard spray paint. Seams to be the best for durability.

WOW!!!! I AM so I love.

I really want to find something like this for the back, but a roll of wrapping paper will do for now.

All filled up with all our special stuff. This makes my heart so happy. Now every morning I can have my coffee and look at my hard work.

You can find out what is stored inside soon.

So shop your house for furniture and redo it to fit your décor better. Go bold it really is just paint.
BE CRAZY!!!

Till next time. Have fun and live a little crazier.

PS. the paint is Valspar Signature color semi gloss finish paint and primer in one.

    Hi Tracy,
    Just admiring your handy work...again.
Out of curiosity, did you sand all the pieces before you painted them?
Lyle's dresser really needs some attention. I bought it from a yard sale years ago with the full intention of renovating it but then my shitty health got in the way and I never did it. I renovated stuff all the time before I moved to Canada - loved doing it! Maybe I can find the love again, how knows?
BTW have you ever tried decoupage? I love the effect but have never tried it.
